Q: Last Mother's Day, while preparing a holiday verse, I turned to the Bible for inspiration, searching for a passage revering motherhood. With the exception of the glorious blessings bequeathed to the Blessed Mother of Jesus, I found no texts citing motherhood (barring references to the pain of childbirth). Where in the Bible is the maternal glory of women's motherhood, so celebrated in our culture? Does this absence stem from male interpretation and translation of the scriptures?
